Andy's Scholarship to NIACC

Here's my son - Andy Scott

He's avery talented football (soccer) player(I would say that wouldn't I).

He's been offered a scholarship to the North Iowa Area Community College NIACC which we're very excited and at the same time anxious about.

We popped over there a couple of weeks back to check out the place & I must say it's fantastic - much better opportunities than the options we were looking at at Leeds & Brighton.

All going well, he'll transfer there in August for a minimum of 2 years with the option of transferring to full university on a 4 year BA degree. He'll start as captain of the soccer team & spend the summer playing in the Player Development League (a feeder into the Major League Soccer conference).

If he does well, he will get signed up for one of the major league teams - worst case he'll come home with a BA from a good uni in the US.

Fingers Crossed

The USA do need some talented players, if their performance at this World Cup is anything to go by.

Plus, of course, you get an excuse to take holidays in Iowa...
